I'm currently(2.12.12) changing sites around.  I'm going to have an e-commerce site on what is now the miketayse-jewelry.com, the jewlery class will now be miketayse-jewelryclass.blogspot and my regular art teacher site is at miketayseartteacher.wordpress.com.  miketayse.blogspot will eventually be something else also.   Pouring molten metal can be a little intimidating the first time.

Ms. Glaser Teaches Paper Making.    Recently, Ms. Glaser, assisted by Ms. Kirch, taught paper making to Ms. Gray's first grade class.  Ms. Glaser is more than just a teacher of paper making and arts and crafts.  Ms. Glaser has written two books about parenting and child care.  One entitled, Who's the Boss and  the other is Baby and Toddler Sleep Solutions For Dummies.    The following is just a quick activity involving the word family of "ip".  The students wrote down the words they were studying with the "ip" ending and then acted out the words.  It's a somewhat goofy thing to do, but I'm really trying to get them to remember and understand something.  The activity involves them listening, copying, writing, speaking, and acting out specific words.  Hopefully

    The following is a few word puzzles my students generated from vocabulary lists or from spelling words for a particular week.  It 's a reasonable way of dragging out new vocabulary words.  If they can make the puzzle and it's solvable, they should be able to know the definition of the words and be a little closer in their ability to spell them correctly.  I could just send home a list of

        I been very fortunate to be teaching at a school that is close to a library.  About a quarter mile away from the school is the Martin Luther King Public  Library in Cleveland, Ohio.  The librarians are always helpful and patient and the selection of books and magazines is great!    The vocabulary  parade is something started, I believe, by Ms. Hershfeld.  All the teachers and students participate  and everybody tries to dress up and try to portray a word.  Some students have very involved costumes and others need only a hat to illustrate their  chosen word. All the classes parade through the halls and then we all go out the back door of the school and parade around
